recuperation
I'm coming to the end of a weekend away at a nice hotel, a belated birthday gift to myself, which has helped me massively with recuperating after all the chaos this year.
But I've noticed something else that's helped me recuperate lately too - this blog. The more I post on here, the more I notice myself making vent notes in my planner, and the better I feel for it.
I use MyBrain as my daily planner, notes app and task manager, and because both Bear Blog and it use Markdown, I find myself getting more and more comfortable having a little vents folder in my notes to just put my negative emotions on the page. Meanwhile, for any ponderings, any positive experiences, or any work or projects, they go here. The notes app will not last forever, like those negative emotions, but I want a record of all the good, all the random things and all the effort I put in, so one day, years down the line, I can scroll back, and see all the good, while the bad is a distant memory.
Using the two in tandem like this has been very helpful for categorising my thoughts and making me think through what I'm feeling.
I think coming home from this hotel weekend, I'm going to write a lot more. It seems to be doing me a lot of good.
